Privacy

Last updated 21 July 2026

CareCircle is a private, shared place for a family looking after someone they love. We take that trust seriously. This page explains, in plain language, what we store and how we look after it.

What we store

To make CareCircle work, we keep:

  • The names or display names of the people in your circle, and the name of the relative you're caring for.
  • Care activity you record — notes, hand-offs, who last checked in, who's on duty.
  • Medications you add and a log of when they were given.
  • Appointments — what, when, where, and with whom.

We only ever store what you and your circle choose to put in. You don't have to record anything you'd rather keep offline.

It stays inside your circle

Everything you enter is private to the members of your circle. Only people invited into your circle can see its information, and access is checked on our servers on every request — not just hidden in the interface.

Signing in

Sign-in and accounts are handled by Clerk, a dedicated authentication provider. Your password and login details live with Clerk, not in CareCircle's own database.

We don't sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't share it with advertisers. Care information is not something to be monetised, and we never will.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Vercel) to understand broad usage — how many pages are viewed, roughly which features get used. It doesn't use tracking cookies, doesn't follow you around the web, and doesn't include the contents of your circle.

Deleting your circle or account

You can ask us to delete a circle and everything in it, or to close your account entirely. For now, email us at privacy@ourcarecircle.com and we'll take care of it. Self-service deletion is on the way.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what we're holding for your circle, just ask — privacy@ourcarecircle.com. See also our data-handling note for more on sensitive information.
